The trilogue on the so-called New Genomic Techniques – NGTs – in plants is about to begin. The EP’s position contains important elements that cannot be found in the positions of either the EU Commission or the Council: Labelling and traceability. These elements are crucial for companies that want to produce food that does not contain genetically modified plant components.
The webinar sheds light on the relevance of labelling and traceability from an economic perspective and with regard to consumer interests.
Discuss with political decision-makers and industry representatives:
Political perspective:
- Christophe Clergeau (S&D)
- Martin Häusling (Greens/EFA)
Economic perspective:
- Dr Georg Buchholz: What costs are to be expected without labelling and traceability?
- Kerstin Erbe, Managing Director of dm-drogerie Markt, Germany
- Wolfgang Ahammer, Managing Director ‘Oils for Life’, Austria
Focus on consumer protection:
- Olivier Andrault, Project Manager Food, Federation of Consumer Organisation Que Choisir, France
Moderation: Heike Moldenhauer, Secretary General of ENGA
The event will be offered in English, German and French with simultaneous interpretation.
We cordially invite you to take part in this important discussion and gain insights into the positions of relevant stakeholders.
